Hey it’s me again. The cyberMed and I’m here to share my POV about these three Commuters. They are all similar in a way but they are different in the way they handle their businesses.

Let’s begin with the hub, the local town crier that doesn’t know how to keep secrets. A hub is used to connect all your networks devices together on an internet network, it has multiple ports and yes! being intelligent is not her own cup of tea. For example the king sent a town crier to an household to deliver a message, the content of the message is supposed to be between the sender and the receiver right ? Tell me why the town crier delivered the message to the receiver and also send the same message to the neighborhood. In a nutshell, as soon as hub delivers the message to the port it goes to other ports available on the device also causing a lot of unnecessary traffic and unsafe atmosphere.

Next on the line is Dj switch opss sorry i mean Switch, hub and switch are kind of similar but in this case switch is intelligent because it knows what to do. It has multiple ports like a hub, it can learn the physical address of the devices that are connected to it and it stores it in a table called Mac Address. Whenever this dispatch wants to send a message, he checks the port and match it with the right MAC address which makes the receiver get the message directly without having to inform other neighborhood of the content. The message gets to the right receiver only and with this it reduce unnecessary traffic on the network, it’s also secure. Hub and switch are LAN (local area network) because they are used to exchange data within a local area. To exchange data data outside their own locality a device need to be able to read IP address which hub and switches do not read and that’s where a router comes in.

A router is like the elite of these thriplet, It routes data from one network to another based on their IP address. A router delivers message based on the IP address that’s shown on device, it makes sure whatever belongs to Bernard doesn’t go to Jeremy because each of them have their own distinct feature which is used to acertain the rightful owner of the message with ease. The moment a router sets out to send a message it checks the receiver IP address and make sure it aligns before any message can be sent. Router is the gates of a network and it’s use to connect network. Router is fast and efficient.
